「KIRINOKA VINEYARDS＆WINERY」は、2020年から秀逸なピノ・ノワールを育てることを目指しながら開墾作業を開始。多くのボランティアの皆さんや地元の方々のご支援を頂きながら、2023年には理想的な糖度と品質の高さを誇る果実を収穫することができました。2024年夏にワイナリーの家屋が完成、9月より自社醸造をスタートしました。春の遅霜に見舞われた2024年は大幅な収穫減となり大変厳しい年となりました。一方、2025年は量、品質共満足のいく年となりました。数年後には2023年と共に偉大な収穫年として記憶されることを願いつつ丁寧に醸造作業を進めています。
ここに至るまで、20年の年月をかけてピノ・ノワールの栽培に適した候補地を探し求めてきました。そして、たどり着いたのが標高850mの高地、信州小野の霧訪山山麓に広がる南南東向きの斜面でした。冷涼な気候と降雨量の少なさに加え、水はけが良いジュラ紀の海洋性堆積土壌はブドウの栽培に欠かせないものとなっています。この風土が、活き活きとした酸味と力強い風味をピノ・ノワールに与えてくれています。
私たちのテーマでもある「醸して自然」は、この土地とぶどうを眼で見て、匂いを嗅いで、空気を呼吸し、温度や湿度を肌で感じながら見えない世界を想像して、その風土を1本のボトルに詰めることだと考えています。私たちの究極のピノ・ノワールを目指す旅は、まだ始まったばかりです。
Estate-grown Pinot Noir from 850m in Nagano
KIRINOKA VINEYARDS & WINERY began in 2020 with the goal of producing exceptional Pinot Noir. With the support of volunteers and locals, we harvested high-quality grapes in 2023. Our winery building was completed in the summer of 2024, and we began in-house production that September.
The 2024 season was marked by late spring frosts that significantly reduced yields, while the 2025 vintage delivered generous crops and excellent quality. We craft our wines with great care, hopeful that both vintages will, in time, be remembered alongside 2023 as outstanding years.
After 20 years of searching, we found the ideal site: a south-southeast slope at 850m altitude, at the foot of Mt. Kirito in Shinshu Ono. The cool climate, low rainfall, and well-drained Jurassic marine sediment soils provide excellent conditions for grape growing. This terroir gives our Pinot Noir its lively acidity and depth of flavor.
Our philosophy, "Winemaking is an expression of nature," means capturing terroir by observing the land and grapes, feeling the air and climate, and imagining the unseen. Our journey to craft the ultimate Pinot Noir has just begun.
